What We Love
This stunning heritage home offers comfort and grandeur for a luxurious and elegant family stay. A spacious interior charms every guest with iconic maximalist wallpaper and whimsical decorations. This inviting home is incredibly cosy despite its expanse, making it the perfect choice for a family stay, or a group of close friends.
The living room is a fabulous place to hang out. A dark and atmospheric design scheme illuminates the vintage sofas reminiscent of a private members club - a great place to curl up with a book and a cocktail. For a more formal occasion, you're met with the perfect statement dining room. Ornamental red wallpaper wraps around a large dining table which seats 8. You also have access to a side rear private garden/courtyard, which help create a flexible living space.
With four bedrooms and a new kitchen and bathroom, this elegant home is located within minute's walk from the North Hobart restaurants and services.
The city of Hobart combines our love for European cities with our love of the countryside, and Arthur is ideally located to enjoy all that Hobart has to offer: the harbour, art galleries, bookstores, top-notch restaurants, cosy gastropubs, farmers' markets, and hole-in-the-wall wine bars are all within easy walking distance.
The Neighborhood
The best coffee in Hobart can be found at Wide Awake on Tasma Street, a 5-minute walk (3 blocks) downhill from Arthur.
Our favourite cafes within walking distance of Arthur include Room for a Pony, Born in Brunswick, and Lizzie & Lefroy all serving fabulous brunch.
The best cheap and cheerful Japanese in town can be found at Midori, and you can find something very healthy and vegan next door at Vege Bar. Kids eat for free before 6 pm at Smolt Kitchen, which is just up the road on Hill St.
On a sunny afternoon, head to Room for a Pony for Woodfired Pizza and Beers on the patio, or head to The Cresent Hotel for gastro pub-grub with a twist. Two cocktail destinations to try: BarWa Izakaya is a funky Japanese bistro/bar, and Pancho Villa is a dramatic Mexican cantina and tequila bar with transportive interior styling.
Willing Bros wine bar serves a fine drop accompanied by French small plates. Templo is a must for foodies, but you'll need to book well in advance. For live music, check out Providore for Jazz and Acoustics, or The Regent Hotel for pub bands.
All of these delights are only a stroll away from Arthur the place to be in Hobart!
