Welcome to "Trelawney" 84 Brown Street Armidale. Built by Josias Moffat, as his own retirement home, circa 1904. Moffat was one of a number of local farmers who speculated successfully in Hillgrove gold. The vision he created here is nothing short of spectacular. A Bullnose verandah wraps around the original building and creates a sense of prestige from the first step.

Around every corner, rooms blend the charm of yesteryear with high ceilings, marble fireplaces, and entryways on to the verandas. The smart addition of a western wing creates the modern touch that brings Trelawney forward. The sunny North facing atrium is the perfect place for morning breakfasts and brings the family together and a kitchen that leaves nothing behind. The grounds are a masterpiece in their own right. Three Himalayan cedars and a number of large established trees create the privacy and seclusion that a home of this calibre deserves. It's in the afternoon light that gardens come to life with the sun dancing at your feet, and a breeze kissing you on the cheek.

The list of period features, like Cast Iron verandah posts & lacework balustrades, could go on forever, but these are best enjoyed in person. Trelawney has served as home to a number of prominent families, as well as a boarding house for PLC Armidale, but it's time for a new custodian to take over and enjoy a life that only few get to experience.
