The vineyard is noted to be one of the oldest in the Great Southern region.
Whilst the vineyard is benefited by access to water and developed with irrigation infrastructure, we are advised that the vineyard is not irrigated, and intentionally dry grown for the purpose of preserving fruit quality.
The majority of grapes are utilised to produce the Howard Park Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc (RRP$150 per bottle). Whilst fruit is not sold on a farm gate basis, discussions with the owner suggest that an achievable farm gate price for these grapes would be in excess of $8,000 per tonne.
The average tonnage for the last 2 harvests average in the vicinity of 50 tonnes per year. Equating to overall yield of 5 tonnes per hectare. The majority of vineyard is hand picked.
