The Original part of Valley View was owned by the Chittering pioneering Martin family until 1953 when it passed to the Robertson family. The forebears of the current owners acquired the property in 1963 and have added the holding that now totals 409 hectares (1010 acres).
The soil types range from friable loam river flats to fertile clay soils to gravel loams. The original vegetation consisted of flood gums, red gums (marri), white gum and jarrah which all indicate the soil types are of a strong fertile nature.
