In 1934 this gracious home was built for Dick Clarke, son of well-known local Bunbury identity and Mayor George Ephraim Clarke. The foundation stone was laid by Dick's mother, Louisa. Dick was a cabinet maker who was blinded while serving in France in WW I. He, with his wife Irene, lived in the home until 1960 when it was sold. In 1972 the home returned to Dick's family when purchased by his niece, Dorothy and her husband Fred Roberts. On their deaths it passed to her daughter, the current owner.
The double brick and tile house was built by Percy Hough, Bunbury's leading builder of the day.
