// About the Business
Bluff Point Newsagency has been operating for over 17 years
Throughout this time they have embarked upon a program of continued growth and development of the business
Being mindful of the trend to online shopping increasing the use of Postal Services and having identified the growing demand for giftware and toys, the business expanded in 2011 increasing the floor space some 80sqm
The expansion proved a positive decision and allowed for a greater focus on Postal Services – creating a separate zone within the store allowing a designated Post Counter with an additional Post Terminal
This expansion afforded a significant increase in Australia Post product range. The expansion also enabled the introduction of giftware and toys, and for an increase in the range of stationary products
Having developed a greater understanding of the business and becoming aware of the unrealised potential of significant increase to numbers of customers in store the business began receiving street mail/Parcels
This proved invaluable and has significantly increased customer volume. The volume of parcels continues to grow year on year, and each Christmas season has demonstrated positive growth compared to the prior Christmas period
Christmas 2022 season yet again saw additional shelving and storage solutions for the increased (on last year) volume of parcels
At a time of gradual change for the Newsagency channel, where there has been much conjecture about the slowly reducing popularity of newspapers and magazines, BPN has reinvented itself as a substantial and necessary business, maintaining community relevance and continued growth
This repositioning in the market and continued focus on product and service variety/delivery has maintained businesses relevance in the community
The mid west region is in the midst of a massive economic transformation and expansion with many new projects bringing considerable infrastructural development
In short there are many sound reasons for investing in the future of WA's Mid West
There is potential for the future value of the region’s gross regional product to increase up to $21 billion by 2031
Studies indicate the population has the potential to grow to around 80,000 by 2025 and in 20 years the population could double
The Mid West Development Commission’s Investment Plan 2011 - 2021 aims to provide necessary support so that the population of the region can grow sustainably based on lifestyle and permanent residence rather than transience based solely on employment opportunities
