Completed in 2019 and designed by Oh Studio, the Beaconsfield House is a testament to how good design can make the most out of modest spaces. Aesthetically this space is contemporary, yet warm. A soft pastel colour palette works to provide a subtle contrast to the outdoor landscape, whilst integrating the dwelling seamlessly into its location.With sustainability in mind, the Barn was designed to connect seamlessly with the existing Pod, creating a U-shape layout that faces North and prioritizes connection with the garden. In an effort to minimise waste on site, the current owners consciously retained the existing structure and ultimately executed a wonderful integration between the two dwellings. Natural light streams through the home providing a wonderful feel, whilst clever design and window louvers maximizes cross flow ventilation and temperature control. Two air-conditioner units and two overhead ceiling fans add further comfort. The main bedroom is located on the first floor of the Barn, which looks out over the downstairs living area via its observation window. This window provides a sense of connection with the house and reveals the impressive scale of the dwelling.Stacking bi-fold windows open from the Barn, creating an outdoor dining area that is connected to the heart of the house. Established flora, vegetable gardens and multiple outdoor break out areas provide ample choices for green thumbs and those who like to unwind outside. The Pod dwelling is constructed of SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels), providing a temperate building all year round. Housed within this building are two bedrooms, an ensuite and a living area, making this a perfect space for a young family. Equally, this building can also be closed off and locked from the Barn, providing an opportunity to rent the Pod or house guests. It's rare that one can feel on holiday whilst simply being at home. This is living at the Beaconsfield House.
