Set on approx 2532 sqm, the former Sunday school at 14 Lobb Street has historical significance for its long association with the local Catholic community. It operated from 1915 through to the 1980s and is one of relatively few surviving in Greater Bendigo.

Architecturally, it is an understated example of a Gothic-influenced design, distinguished by its narrow-tall form with steeply pitched roof clad with painted corrugated iron.

Designed by local architects Keogh & Austen, who were also responsible for several buildings for the Catholic Church in the early 20th century, the timber school building measuring a generous 13m x 17m (45'x 17').
The modern front porch, front door and numerous outbuildings were added in the 1990s when the building was adapted for residential use.
It is now blessed with a loft bedroom with a walk-in robe and ensuite, a kitchen, separate living and dining spaces and a bathroom with shower, corner spa bath, handbasin and WC. Two more external bedrooms, a laundry, a self-contained bungalow, five sheds, two carports, and a garden shed complete the site.

Now it's time for creative entrepreneurs to overhaul the site. There is a Heritage Overlay on the school building, but the site has potential for subdivision, leaving the school building and ample land on the southwest side.
Subject to council approval, you may wish to; subdivide and develop part of the land; restore the church for use as a residence, unique accommodation, a wedding chapel, artist community space, dance studio or gym etc.
