Established in 1989, the award-winning 8.48 hectare (21 acre) vineyard is located in the heart of the Daylesford and Castlemaine tourist region and an established wine tour route. It is one of the first wineries in the region, growing cabernet sauvignon, merlot, shiraz, tempranillo and chardonnay varieties.
First plantings, 32 years ago, were cabernet sauvignon and quickly followed by shiraz. Plantings of merlot, tempranillo and chardonnay were added in later years as the vineyard grew in popularity. The rustic cellar door is welcoming with a large and loyal customer base who enjoy the large sunny deck to savour the delicious wines.
Live among the vines - the 3 bedroom cedar home sits over 2 levels with a large wrap around verandah, sunny orientation and views of the rose garden and surrounding bushland. It is an ideal home for families, with combined kitchen/dining, adjacent living room, 2 bathrooms and laundry. 5kw solar panels feed into the grid to supply much of the power required to sustain the home.
Those wishing to continue winemaking will be pleased to find a 20 x 9m winery shed with cellar door, laboratory and cool room and the essential wine making equipment. A 4-bay machinery shed, and fully enclosed double-bay protects specialist machinery and implements. The associated laboratory, pressing, storing, and bottling infrastructure is ready for a budding winemaker.
Inclusions: Tractor, pumps, nets, bins, de-stemmer, spray unit, etc, essentially all the equipment required to maintain and enhance the vineyard, will remain.
