The topography and soil types are typical of the immediate area and consisting of gently undulating deep red sandy Mallee loam soils with rises tendering in east/west direction, interspersed with areas of slightly heavier and level aspect red loam based soils.
A continuous cropping program has been in place with lupins and vetch crops planted to break the cereal cycles.
Ideally suited to a continuous winter cropping and hay production program, for wheat, barley, oats, vetch, lupins and canola crops in season.
The Bureau of Meteorology rainfall mapping indicates that the property aggregation is located within an area with an annual rainfall range of between 300mm and 400mm.
The Chinkapook, Mittyack and Manangatang district has long been renowned as a prime cereal cropping and mixed farming agricultural zone of the eastern Mallee district of Victoria.
Manangatang is centrally located in this region, servicing the cereal and livestock producers, located 140*km southeast of the major regional centre of Mildura, 80*km west of Swan Hill and 400*km north of Melbourne.
