The key guiding principle for the construction of this home was to capture as much light as possible. The outside walls are made up of an amalgam of exposed concrete, colorbond, manufactured plywood and fibrous panelling. The guttering, downpipes, pergola posts, metal batons, structural posts and window frames are all of galvanised metal appearance. The external colours were chosen by a professional colour consultant. The house is surrounded by gravel pathways and gravel driveways; this reinforces the minimalistic nature of this homes design. The professionally designed garden accentuates the strong geometric lines of the house. Five double glazed sliding doors open on to four separate decks. The six custom made steps that service the outside are made from galvanised metal and laminated merbau. The inside continues with the light industrial feel. The power point and light switch covers are all brushed metal as are the fans, the light housings and door handles. The metallic window frames; fitted with Luxaflex external awnings and double glazed entry doors are similarly styled. The light industrial feel is further enhanced by the polished concrete floors in four rooms including the main living area. The colours of the walls, tiles and the cabinetry throughout have been chosen by a professional interior decorator.
