The wildlife is abundant with wallabies, wombats, pademelons, platypus, echidnas, quolls and Tassie Devils, plus an abundance of bird life. Waratah and the Tarkine are renowned for some of the purest air and water in the world. The water can be enjoyed from the large water tank which absolutely never runs out.

Throughout the cabin there are carefully curated light-fittings to create a special ambience, plus artwork by local artists and woodwork by local craftspeople. The tin roof gives a nod to the heritage of the town of Waratah, which once had the largest tin mine in the world and the first town in Australia to have electric street lights. This is a town full of history and stories. A two-minute walk up the road is the historic Bischoff Hotel where you can have a meal and hear the tales of the town from the colourful locals.

The cabin is also a very practical space with a full kitchen, including a dishwasher, stove, oven and large fridge. There is a striking tiled bathroom complete with a mid-century basin, a shower with an inbuilt LED light fitting, toilet and a European laundry which boasts both a washer and dryer.

You will feel like you're in a boutique hotel with excellent heating and cooling for the changing seasons. While outside the divine nature of the Tarkine will uplift your spirit with calm and joy. This is the ultimate way to connect to nature without missing out on luxury comforts.

The cabin has been utilised as short-term accommodation with a highly popular and profitable track-record, especially being only a 45-minute drive to Cradle Mountain. It is a great spot for tourists, having maintained a 5-star record with Airbnb. More recently it has been used as a creative retreat hosting writers, artists, filmmakers, actors and podcasters - this is a place that lends itself to being shared. Indeed, the bar table seats 6 people, while events at Joe's Bookie Shed easily fit 20 people.

However, the sweet pink cabin also presents a perfect sanctuary to escape hectic city life. Imagine enjoying a wine in the bathtub while the fire glows and the soothing sounds of the waterfall lull you into a sense of peace and tranquility. Leave the worries of the world behind and spend your days hiking in ancient and World Heritage forests and sleeping soundly in the super comfy king bed at night.
