A hundred years after construction, it was destined for demolition, but it was saved from the wrecker and moved in 1994 to its present site in Reid Street. You'll marvel at the restoration, size and comfort of this two bedroom cottage, the bathroom's spa bath has a magnificent red gum slab around the edge which overlooks tree ferns hundreds of years old, and the kitchen adjoins the living room. Strahan is Nestled in the sheltered waters of Macquarie Harbour, the town was originally established as a port, first for the mining operators and later, when those settlements became little more than ghost towns, for the booming fishing industry.
