You Own Fairytale Cottage Beside the Sea
This is a handcrafted cottage in the Scandinavian tradition built by an artisan woodworker with the inspired internal decor of his artist partner.
It is a unique and very quaint cottage with a small footprint and an exceptionally interesting use of space and a gorgeous outlook.

The cottage sits on the banks of Carnarvon Bay across the road from the pristine sands of a safe beach and nestles into a beautiful garden of mature European trees and shrubs plus a variety of fruit and nut trees.
The cottage is clad in Canadian cedar and has turned naturally silver with age. It has 4 soaring Gothic spires of 65 degrees with gingerbreading in the gable ends and rises over 3 floors.
On entry, you will see soaring ceilings, cosy window seats and water views.
In the lounge, you will see massive structural beams salvaged from an old Boyer jetty; tall lead-light casement windows looking out across the garden to the bay and an open fire with a Heffernan Jetmaster firebox and a 2 metre mirror above it. The staircase winds around the chimney up to the first floor landing displaying an intricate wrought iron balustrade and chandelier.
There are two bedrooms on this level separated by the family bathroom. The main has walk in robe and window seat.
From here is an attic access ladder to an enormous attic space. It is undeveloped at present but could easily be turned into three bedrooms.
The kitchen has French provincial influence with timber cupboards, granite bench tops and farmhouse ceramic sink. A beautiful pantry door of old Huon pine adds instant charm to the kitchen which has all modern conveniences with dishwasher gas hot water ceramic cook-top and wall oven with separate grill. The kitchen opens to a timber patio with views to the bay.
Terracotta floor tiles are throughout the downstairs section. There are French doors from the dining nook to an alfresco courtyard and a quaint window seat giving views to the bay.
The laundry and extra loo are tucked under the stairwell.
Walls have lime washed dado paneling and pine ceilings.
To complement the garden, there is a timber workshop/studio, with carport and a garden shed.
The cottage is close to all services, within walking distance of the historic Port Arthur site and approximately an hour and a quarter drive to the Hobart airport.
This is an exquisite and extraordinary cottage.
