This room also opens to a deck and the two glass doors that meet at the corner slide right back so the outdoors form part of the indoors.
The great specification of this house is that it is warm in winter as it faces due North. The wide eaves protect from too much heat and glare in summer. There are three decks in all, so if the wind springs up you can move to a sheltered spot. The home is heated through heat pumps which are cleverly concealed in the ceiling and venting is through neat little grills.
The house was designed for entertaining with lavish amounts of bench space and storage for easy entertaining of friends and family.
Constructed of a cement slab at the front of the house, it allows for the soaking up of the sun and then releasing its energy in the evening. There is underfloor heating in the bathrooms and the remaining floors are golden Tasmanian Oak with a high gloss finish.
Easy maintenance had been part of the design and easy-care gardens mostly coastal grasses and some natives. The property is fenced by no maintenance material to last a life time. There is plenty of room for boats and other water vessels and to enjoy fishing for flounder and flathead off the rocks.
