Vendors' points of interest
We bought our home in 2004 just before we got married with a lot of work to do on it.
Before our first child was born, the old part of the home was lovingly renovated and decorated and we enjoyed this for several years, welcoming a second child into the family a few years later.
The garden also was transformed over several years from a large area of mud and weeds with a few fruit trees into a beautiful lawn and mostly native garden where many birds can be seen in the trees and bushes and the children can play soccer and cricket.
When our third baby was born in 2011, we decided to extend the home, changing the floorplan of the old part of the house to include a large master bedroom, walk-in robe and beautiful en-suite.
The large master bedroom is one of the best features of the home, with a small retro functioning log burner and mantelpiece.
The walk-in robe is very functional and the en-suite with its granite shelf, large walk-in shower and black mosaic tiles is spectacular.
As part of the extension which was completed in early 2012, we built a new fourth bedroom which currently doubles as a gaming room, a new laundry/powder room and a stunning kitchen, living, dining room on the back of the home with full height glass doors straight out onto the back verandah and onto the garden.
Antoinette Sofia helped us design the kitchen and it was handmade by Domenic Mercuri at InHouse Woodworks.
It has full height cupboards, soft closing drawers and cupboards with no handles, white Caesarstone benchtops and wood veneer on the island bench.
It also has a glass splashback, integrated AEG dishwasher, Electrolux induction cooktop, double oven and double sink.
It is a fabulous kitchen with an abundance of space which is perfect for people who love to cook.
This large family room at the back of the home has become the focal point of the house, with many parties being held here in both summer and winter.
The formal lounge at the front with French doors straight into the front garden remained, with built-in bookshelves, soundproof doors and a Jetmaster fire.
It is a wonderful winter retreat used mainly as a music room.
We have enjoyed this home for nearly 15 years but now it's time for someone else to move in and enjoy all of its wonderful features.
Features of our home:
- 3m high ceilings throughout.
- Jarrah floorboards: formal lounge and master bedroom are original; hallway are new.
- Decorative mouldings throughout the old part of the home.
- Multi-zoned Daikin reverse cycle air conditioning with insulated ducts for efficiency.
- Gas instant hot water system.
- Formal lounge with French doors leading out into the front garden, Jetmaster gas fire, built-in bookshelves, soundproof doors.
- Custom made leadlight by Prospect Leadlight each side of the front door, in the small window of bedroom one and the master bedroom.
- Restored timber fretwork in the hall.
- Large master bedroom with small functioning retro log burner, walk-in robe and en-suite.
- En-suite with floor to ceiling black mosaic tiles, large walk in shower, granite shelf made by Adelaide Marble and custom-made mirrored cabinetry by InHouse Woodworks
- Interior design by Antoinette Sofia of Sofiaa Design.
- Polished concrete floors by Arrunga Floors.
- Full height double-glazed sliding doors with aluminium frames in the family room.
- Almost full height double glazed picture window.
- Bespoke kitchen with full height cupboards across the backwall, soft closing drawers and cupboards and pantry.
Caesarstone benchtops, integrated AEG dishwasher and Hi-flow under bench water filter.
Large island bench with wood veneer and breakfast bar with 4 stools.
- Electrolux induction cooktop, microwave and double wall oven.
- Watering system - sprinklers for lawn and drippers in some beds.
- Hot and cold outdoor shower.
- Outdoor kitchen with mains gas supply and hot and cold water.
- Two wall-mounted Hills washing lines.
Future improvements:
- The rear sliding doors have a channel for sliding flyscreens.
We had envisaged a flyscreen panel at the kitchen end door only.
This would allow airflow into the kitchen and leave the rest of the view into the garden unhindered.
- We had also planned outdoor blinds along the length of the back verandah.
These were planned to be fitted on the outside under the gutter.
Installed with a remote control, these blinds could be used for a high level of privacy instead of internal blinds, and make the back verandah more comfortable in hot or cold weather.
- Land had been purchased from the neighbouring property to allow carparking to occur along the side of the house.
A carport for two cars had also been envisaged.
