Established in early 1843 when German settlers from Klemzig moved North to the Barossa and settled on these sections north of the original Tanunda subdivision.
In 1859 this strip of land was owned by J Gotthilf Hamdorf and in the 30s the site was used by the Klose Family as a trucking depot carting grapes from the Riverland amongst other things and after the war the Klose Family used the site for the disposal of army goods.
