A word from our vendors:
The home was built for a prominent Judge and MP on 4 acres of land when the area of Dulwich was released for sale. In 1890 it was the second largest home in Dulwich and the grand frontage imposing set back from the road with fountain and circular drive for carriage access at the front door.

Today being set back is an advantage allowing for a wonderful circular garden around the original restored fountain and a view of the stately decorative front of the house that is always amazing for its design and skilled craftsmanship making this house is a 'hidden gem' unknown to many locals. The right of way from Stuart Road provides easy driveway access and keeps the privacy of the front garden.

Living here with homely yet gracious and spacious rooms has allowed flexible use to meet the changing family needs of a young family or teenagers.

The house and garden have held 21sts and a wedding amongst othee celebrations. The family love the character, quietness, space to play, hide or retreat along with the stone fruit, citrus and fig trees.

The place in local history has inspired the owners to return the exterior to heritage colours and to retain the character of the 1880s period including preserving and restoring heritage features without losing the warmth and homely feel for family living.

The current layout reflects the original design of the house with the largest living room the family space and the front drawing room originally to receive visitors. The now study or bedroom was probably the breakfast room in 1885. The kitchen with restored mantle and dresser and family size table has been the heart of the house to suit family living, whilst originally the maids domain!

A family home for the owners, children and more recently grandchildren to have the run of and enjoy, it is now time to downsize and leave for another family to make their home.
