Seize the opportunity to secure this high performance cane farm in the Burdekin. 807.5 acres, with 795 acres in cultivation this farm has been set up for single person operation with long paddocks.
Set over three titles with approximately 1/3 of the cane assigned land growing beans and rice, all paddocks have been set up with minimum tillage using controlled traffic on 1.8m dual row centres. The Cane estimate for 2018 is approximately 15,000 tonne, with approximately 120ha of soy bean and 30ha of rice both due to be harvested in May 2018. The farm consists of mostly Barratta clay soils, and yields are comparable to district averages. Each paddock has been maintained to bring the soil fertility and health to its maximum potential, resulting in low cost operation and high productivity.
The farms water is totally recyclable, with the recycle pit equipped with a 6 inch Southern Cross pump. Irrigation has been made fast and efficient, with 2 x 12 inch China pumps, 1 x 6 inch Southern Cross Pump with a Sunwater water allocation of 10 mega litres p/ha. 7kms of 12 inch and 15 inch poly pipe with outlets every 100 metres eliminates the need for cup changes.
