Turtle Island is 4 kilometres north-east (or a 10 minute boat trip) from the coastal town of Gladstone in Port Curtis, Queensland. Gladstone is approximately 440 kilometres north of the capital city of Brisbane. Given that Turtle Island is located at the Southern end of the Great Barrier Reef, it has one of the seven wonders of the natural world at its doorstep. The Southern Great Barrier Reef is home to what is considered to be one of the top dive and snorkelling sites in the world, dotted with impressive coral cays and reefs that are only a stone s throw away from the coast.
