We have only lived in Machans for 6 months. Unfortunately, I needed to be evacuated from our newly purchased home to the hall after the floods. This is when I witnessed the Machans community spirit in action for the first time and then more so in the weeks since. A few people have said to us that we should sell up and leave! Why would we want to move back to a home that is prone to such devastation? To this I say No Way! We are staying. We will rebuild our home as resilient as we can and continue to be part of a beautiful, supportive and friendly community. THANK YOU Machans, and everyone outside of the village who has been helping us. We could not have gotten through without you.
