Fenced on two sides, you can drive through the block and around most of the boundaries where the owner has been clearing firebreaks. There is a camp set up close to the creek.
There are so many changes to the scenery along the creek it a pleasure to walk, not only when it?s flowing but anytime of the year. You will find that it will have waterholes most of the year round, some large enough to lie and cool down in.
Ranging between 40m and 50m above sea level it is an easy block to walk through with vegetation mainly consisting of large Bloodwoods, Gums and She Oaks with the odd Cabbage Palms thrown in.
Lowmead has a hotel and primary school. Children can catch the school bus out front to this school and also to the high school at Rosedale. Basic food items are stocked at the hotel or alternatively, 12km up the road is the Fingerboard Roadhouse where you can get fuel & take away food.
