Last Listing description (September 2025)

This is multi-generational living at it's finest. 2 near new separate dwellings on over half an acre in a very quiet and private location.

The whole family could live here, sharing island life together, or if that doesn't appeal, there are income generating opportunities here to live in one and rent or AirBnB the other.

The main dwelling is 176m2, with 3 bedrooms and a study. The spacious master bedroom of this dwelling features a walk in robe, ensuite, and sliding doors leading onto the verandah. The home is tiled throughout with a kitchen that has plenty of room to move, an island bench/breakfast bar, and electric cooking appliances.

Both homes are elevated and steel framed connected by a large 54m2 timber deck breezeway creating a beautiful outdoor communal area. The homes are on piers above a concrete slab, with a huge laundry room at ground level with it's own toilet and shower for when you are finished tinkering in the yard, or after a day out on the water.

On the roof is a 6.5KW solar array of 24 panels and Solarhart solar hot water heating for both dwellings to keep the electricity bills very low.

Moving on to the second dwelling, it is by no means a little granny flat at 90m2 floor area. It has 2 bathrooms including a bath and ensuite, walk in robe for the main bedroom with another room which could be used as an office or a guest bedroom. The kitchen and living area is open plan with verandahs running the length of the dwelling on both north and south sides. It has it's own private entrance from Wobur street or from the breezeway connecting the 2 dwellings.

As well as a concreted driveway from Paranka St, there is a huge 9m x 6m shed that could house at least 2 vehicles and a workshop area that has power and water to it.

The property is located in a very quiet and private location on over half an acre of mostly clear and landscaped land, with a 2 street frontage on Wobur street and Paranka streets; both no-through roads. The Harry Brooks reserve adjoins the property, a leafy bushland reserve, with walking trail and home to many unique native birds.

Council rates are $2800/year including water. Being on such a large piece of land and 2 separate dwellings the owners are wanting offers in the low $900,000s. Where else can you get 2 homes for the price of one in the greater Brisbane area? At only 50 minutes to Brisbane CBD and 50mins to the Gold Coast including the ferry ride, this property is worth considering if you are wanting a quieter island lifestyle.

ABOUT LAMB ISLAND
Lamb Island (Ngudooroo) is the second smallest of the Southern Moreton Bay Islands with excellent fishing, kayaking, sailing and deep water moorings on our doorstep. We have about 500 residents and a small community feel compared to the larger suburban islands Russell and Macleay. Most people come here for the peace and quiet. Get your local honey, freshly roasted coffee, organic microgreens, edible mushrooms, local artwork and handmade soap from some of the local small businesses on Lamb.

There are many groups and activities to keep you occupied, from Yoga and Tai Chi classes, community bushcare days, to trivia nights and pool and table tennis competitions at the Rec Club.

We have town water (which comes from the aquifer below the great sand island North Stradbroke), electricity, NBN internet, public tennis court, playground, BBQ area and swimming area, off-leash dog park, community garden, free rubbish dump, Lamb Island Recreational Club and a small shop. Woolworths deliver here every day of the week for a small delivery fee. There are essentials such as schools, post office, pharmacies, medical centres, hardware stores and cafes on the neighbouring islands Macleay and Russell which are a free 5 minute inter-island ferry away. The vehicle barge is $60 each way for residents leaving from Redland Bay, Brisbane. The Island jetties are currently undergoing a major revamp with work on the Lamb jetty already commenced.

We are just a 21 minute Translink passenger ferry to Redland Bay, Brisbane where there is free car parking and the Weinam Creek Development is in the pipeline.

The islands are moving ahead and undergoing a building boom which is to be expected for a region only 50 mins to Brisbane City and 50 mins to the Gold Coast. The secret's out and more people are discovering our beautiful islands and the unique lifestyle they offer.
