Caught yabbies,
Swum in the dam,
Bred cattle,
Hand-fed baby calves,
Raised baby chickens (who also enjoyed being driven around on top of matchbox cars).
Enjoyed spot lighting for native animals at night,
Our children have proven ourselves to be excellent go-cart racers,
Over-filled our bellies countless times with food slow-cooked in the camp oven,
Enjoyed perhaps 1 or 2 too many glasses of port in front of the fireplace.
Grown our own veges and feasted on farm fresh eggs.
Many a picnic lunches,
Donned our backpacks and headed off into the bush behind the house and spent the day lost among the eucalypts and grass trees.
Climbed the huge fig tree, bbq'd in its shade and used its branches to hang the tyre swing.
Counted the local wallabies that come to chew on the grass in the mornings on our way to
the school bus and again in the late afternoon
A place so quiet it actually echoes up there.
