The residence was designed using sustainable practices, including constructing the home to suit the environment instead of the other way around. The home uses solar panels to provide electricity and heating and 53,000-litre water tanks are plumbed into the toilets, laundry and outside taps.

To reduce its carbon footprint, the home does not have air conditioning but instead utilizes the river and its natural cooling properties by using banks of louvered windows and a breezeway allowing cool air to flow throughout the home. Crimsafe security screens are installed throughout the home to not only provide security, but also keep pesky bugs out of the home while allowing the breezes in. In the cooler months, a fireplace at the centre of the home as well as points throughout the home for gas heaters, keeps the interior warm.
Nearly every room in the home has a river view. There are three bedrooms in the lower level, including the main bedroom with a walk-in wardrobe and private ensuite with separate bath, shower and toilet. The main bedroom also has its own enclosed balcony overlooking the river.
On the main level of the home is the open plan lounge and dining areas adjacent to the spacious kitchen with Miele and Smeg appliances and a butler's pantry. Off this area is a rumpus/ media room plus the internal laundry and a spacious entertaining deck complete with sauna and spa. The entertaining deck is also fully enclosed with Crimsafe and takes in views of the river and surrounds.
There is a fourth bedroom on the top floor with a study and home office. There is ample storage throughout the home as well as room for several cars, a boat and trailer beneath the home.
