Last Listing description (October 2022)

Built around 1995, this architect-designed home was built for tropical living with high ceilings, lots of decks and excellent cross-ventilation.

Paths weave around the 4001m2 bush block and would suit a keen gardener, with an enclosed veggie patch and chook run to boot, and the block is mostly fenced to allow kids and dogs to run around without a worry. Cool off in the inground plunge pool, solar heated in winter when you might prefer it a little warmer!

Backing onto National Park, there's a rear fence within the boundary and a gate takes you out and over a bridge to the 'folly', which sits at the rear of the property, overlooking a gorgeous wet season swimming hole in Gorge Creek. The owners can affirm that flooding has never been an issue for this property in the 25 years that they have been here, the creek is an absolute bonus. A one bedroom cabin with ensuite and basic kitchenette also overlooks Gorge Creek and was a very popular AirBnB prior to Covid (and could easily be again but not for the current owners who are downsizing due to age). Accessed via a garden walkway, it is quite separate to the house and an ideal retreat.

The house was also part of the successful BnB business, with a one bedroom ensuite bedroom on one side of the living area, opening onto the central front deck, and two further bedrooms and the family bathroom on the other side of the living area which provides separation from the guests. A private deck with latticed walls comes off the front bedroom and looks out over the garden, the wall between this and the central deck was added for privacy but could easily be removed and opened up again to form a large front deck.

Hardwood floors feature throughout the house, except the tiled bathrooms, and there's a laundry under the house. From the road, you would have no idea what hides beyond, this is definitely for those who like their privacy. On one side boundary, there's an unformed road reserve whilst the driveway runs down the other side, with plenty of room to park all manner of vehicles, including a double carport just off the back deck and kitchen servery for ease of bringing in the groceries.

With additional seating areas and workshop areas dotted around, this is a wonderful property for those who like to explore and tinker. The avid gardener will be in their element!
