The late 1880's Victorian Villa, was originally built for Kate Quinlan, a founder of Castlemaine Brewery, a position handpicked at the time, as one of Brisbane's most elite residential suburbs, where many fine homes were built overlooking the Brisbane river. It was designed by the very notable Brisbane architectural firm John Hall and Son. Many details of the home were brought out from England in ships.

The lacework and its columns that surrounds the substantial verandas show three flowers emerging from an urn, truly beautiful in its appearance.
