These soil types are repeated over the whole station, Wittenburra has Mulga, Black Gidyea, Gidyea and Yapunya as the main trees on the station.
This property is unique in the fact that it is locally known as watershed country, it is called this as it has a range of hills on the Northern and Western boundaries which runs water through the channels on the station and into the rich soils that grow the feed for the stock. There s also surveyed diversion banks that run water over approximately 10 15% of the station that would normally miss out.
WATER:
Wittenburra have seven artesian bores that flow into a polypipe system that runs around the station which feeds into poly tanks than into 19 cement troughs with pads. Wittenburra is well maintained with good water with one of the few properties that can hold stock during the dry and wet times and is also freehold which make this the complete package. All the work has been done so just bring the stock.

Cunnamulla
Cunnamulla is situated on the Warrego River with the Matilda highway travelling through the township which connects northern N.S.W to the Gulf country in Far North Queensland. Cunnamulla is 940km west of Brisbane and 198km south of Charleville. The rich plains and river flats are ideal for sheep and cattle for which the area is renowned for. Irrigation on a small scale has opened up opportunities for fruit orchards.
Paroo and Warrego Rivers
The Paroo and Warrego Rivers run along side of each other with the Warrego joining the Darling River below of Bourke in N.S.W on a consistent basis. Together the Paroo and Warrego catchment cover roughly 14% of the Murray Darling Basin.
The Warrego River starts at the Carnarvon Ranges and flow south, joining the Darling River downstream of Bourke. Only in flood will both rivers meet each other. The Warrego has only has small diversions for water storage and flows seasonally while the remainder of the year it forms large water holes.
The Paroo River is unregulated intermitted, flowing mainly when heavy rains fall in its northern catchment. It begins south of the Gowan Range and flows into western N.S.W, usually as far as the flood plains south of Wanaarring. The Paroo only joins the Darling River in the wettest of years.
Both catchments have been important to Aboriginal people for over 25,000 years. Many Aboriginal tribes retain a connection with the region, and their history, culture and livelihoods are closely intertwined with its river systems. Europeans settled the area in the mid 19th century.
Climate
The climate is moderate all year round with good rainfall throughout the year. Temperature ranges from 20 degrees in winter to 35 degrees in the summer and when coupled with rainfall allows excellent growth of native grasses and herbages.
The main rainfall months does coincide with tropical cyclones events but also receives the North/West cloud bands through the winter period.
