Roper River, flying fox and Julboi Rivers with permanent running water and numerous water holes.
Big river has a variety of different land scapes, including open red loamy creek soils to black river flats and some escarpment gorge country up the back with plenty of water and waterfalls.
The current stocking rate is apox 4,500 dry cattle, and with more development one the 250 sq. km, s of undeveloped country this would bring it up to aprox 6.5 to 7 thousand head total.
Big River is divided into 8 main paddocks with holding paddocks around water points. There are 6 holding paddocks at the homestead with trough and dams in all. There is a lot of natural water on the property & the Roper & flying Fox rivers are fenced off for management purposes.
The main station yard is all gal steel with pound draft & race capable of 5 way draft. Good shade & holds aprox 1200hd fences are mostly 4 barb & steel post & pickets 90% of fencing don in the last 10 yrs.
The current running capacity is aprox 4000 head and would run aprox 6,000 head .
The homestead is a 60ft by 80ft rambuild shed with room's kitchen & living area built in.
A 120ft by 50ft stable & storage shed
The homestead is powered by solar power with back up auto generator
