The conservation area consist of a series of sandstone ridges and gullies that contain mostly open forests and woodlands dominated by Blackbutt, Spotted Gum, Mahogany, Grey Gum, Tallowwood, Ironbark and Forest Oak. Small areas of viney scrub are found in the gullies including Lilly Pilly and Water Gum.
Bush-tailed Rock-wallabies listed as endangered on Schedule 1 of the Threatened Species Conservation Act, 1995, have been recorded on the site.
The conservation area contains a number of values that may be considered significant to the local Aboriginal community including potential occupation sites with deposit. Other site types recorded locally include burials, art sites, artefact scatters and bora rings.
The conservation area is recognised as a significant wildlife corridor acting as a major east- west link between other assemblages of state forest's and other nearby parks and reserves. The conservation area is also recognised as having significant scenic landscape value, the property contains the peak of Mt Murragang (430m). The entire property is listed by DECC as landscape Priority 2.
This allows native species of wildlife a suitable habitat.
