The story of Douglas Jack is rather intriguing...
Scotland born Douglas Jack moved out to Australia in the late 50's with his beloved wife, Helen where he worked as a fitter and turner.
The couple initially purchased the Sanctuary Point house as a weekender, where they would Bowl, fish and enjoy a quiet Glenfiddich.
Many years ago, Helen and Douglas were watching a program on TV. It was about an event called Convoy, and how they were raising money for Camp Quality to help make a difference for children and their families facing cancer.
As they were never blessed with children of their own, they decided to include the children of Camp Quality in their wills.
A few years after Helen had passed away, Douglas decided to venture to Sydney to visit Camp Quality offices to inform them of their decision.
He wanted to ensure that his wife's wishes were realised and wanted to do it in person as he was handing in his driver's license the next day and that would be his last chance to travel the distance.
Through Douglas and Helen's ultimate gift of giving, we would like to present to you, 24 Kerry Street, Sanctuary Point.
