An inspired collaboration between Space Design Architecture and MADE Architectural Constructions has resulted in this striking inner city residence taking out the 2016 RESIDENTIAL ARCHITECTURE 'New Houses Award' for best new home in the Newcastle. The imaginative fusion of diverse materials inside and out has created an uber-cool urban home with a raw, industrial edge. It's built over two light-filled levels with natural ventilation throughout, where materials, textures, shapes and colour blend seamlessly to create a living space that is both original and comfortable.

Exposed ducting, reclaimed brickwork, polished concrete, matte black joinery, raw wood, steel and a 5.6m green wall are merged in unexpected ways, delivering fresh interiors that are visually pleasing. The living domain also connects to an outdoor terrace through generously-sized bi-fold doors; this opening ensures a perfect natural illumination throughout the home from its desirable northeast orientation.
