Burren Junction grew from a railway encampment which came from the extension of the north-western rail line in 1902. The Burren Junction Bore Baths are in a rural setting 100m off the Highway on sealed road. They are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week (closed in summer) and are a popular meeting place for locals and visitors.
Meals are available at the Junction City Hotel, and it also has diesel fuel 3 kilometers away in Burren Junction or pop into Caf on Waterloo for a bacon and egg roll for breaky and all your local convenience items. Other retail shops for food and petrol are available in Wee Waa which is 50kms drive or Walgett and Narrabri which are 90kms away.
