The Burrow
This 6 hectare (14.8 acre approx)
property offers gently sloping paddocks with snow gums and granite tors - a place to relax and enjoy or a place to cultivate and produce. It is the epitome of a true snowy mountain hideaway and features a five bedroom home that was a charming older workman's hut that has been extended and enhanced to provide all the modern comforts - two reverse cycle air con units to complement the wood stove heater, two bathrooms (with an option for a third) including two large off peak hot water systems, a large family kitchen, a cosy lounge room and a large airy family room. On top of that, if you want a change from the beautiful vista of the plain below, you have the option of excellent TV reception which has recently been upgraded. So has the electricity sub-station

to 25 kva..
The property also features a large 4 bay barn, a hot house and a range of other sheds and shelters, including an old meat house. All fences and gates are in good condition. There is a large dam and bore which is complemented by a number of water tanks.
But it's not just the man-made things that make 'The Burrow' a special place. It's the families of lizards that sun themselves on the tors that feature in the extensive gardens and grounds. It's the prolific bird life that entertains you after a long lazy day enjoying the mountains or the beach. It's the roses and lavender that sweeten the night air. It's the wedge tail eagle and it's fledgling sweeping above, scanning the fields for prey. It's the hare and his partner out for a frolic at sundown. And it's the spectacular night sky.
The grounds are beautiful. The house garden has apricot, plum and peach as the feature trees, with snow gum, a variety of pines and shrubbery which wraps around the rabbit proof fence line, leaving the vista of the plain below open for all to see. Spread throughout the garden beds (which are populated with lavender and dozens of varieties of roses) are thousands and thousands of spring bulbs. These include babiana, a range of lillies, daffodils, lily-of-the-valley, etc. Not to be outdone, the extended grounds heading up towards the barn have a number of different flowering bulbs, including hundreds of daffodils. Particularly attractive are the dozens of hollyhocks within the granite tors. These extended grounds are speckled with oak trees, a spectacular smoke tree and a range of others including liquid amber and silver berch.
If you are looking for a peaceful and comfortable place, please come and see 'The Burrow'.
