The owners always knew they wanted to live in the inner North great cafes, pubs, restaurants and parklands. In March 2021, they fell in love with Forbes Street and bought the perfect apartment that has seen their lives transition to becoming new parents.
"While this place has seen a party or two, this is also our son's first home. The nights may now be sleepless for a different reason, but we are so happy to have been able to bring him home here and for us to share the early morning strolls to the cafes and parks!"
"Now when it comes to getting some of the renovations completed, we got our tool belts out and got our hands dirty and landscaped the main courtyard. We removed dead trees, put in some new plants, mulched and installed some ground spot lights to compliment the fairy lights in the big tree. It has been a great success for us, and we love having a glass of red wine under the heater and lights in winter, or putting the tellie outside and cooking a BBQ when entertaining friends. It is such a great space!!"
"While we were at it, we got to work on the second courtyard. There was a broken retractable clothes line which didn't retract and meant that the space was really only used to dry your clothes, and let's be honest in winter, there wasn't much drying. So we removed the old clothes line and installed a foldable clothes line on the back wall. That opened the space up incredibly. We then landscaped and added an outdoor setting. That space gets beautiful sunlight in the mornings, so there is no better way to start your day than to have a nice cup of coffee, stroll through your Insta Feed and take in the glorious sun rays!"
"We also renovated the bathroom. While we love the vintage, mid-century style throughout our home, we decided to take a more modern approach to the bathroom lifting it up with a chic white and black theme (and yes don't judge, but I am a Collingwood supporter). Some hanging wall plants are a nice finishing touch to keep with the theme of indoor plants throughout the rest of the apartment."
